Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Tizo POS ("we", "us") makes billing software for clothing and textile shops in India. This policy explains what we collect through this website and through the Tizo POS app (in a browser, on Windows, Mac and Linux, and on Android and iPhone), why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The short version
- We use your details to run the service, support you and keep it secure. We do not sell them and we do not show ads.
- The details a shop keeps about its own customers belong to that shop. We store them for the shop and use them only to provide the service.
- This website has no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics.
1. What we collect
When you ask for a demo
Your name, shop name, city, mobile number and anything you write in the message box. We use these only to contact you about Tizo POS.
When your shop uses Tizo POS
- Account details: the shop's name, address, GST number and contact details; the names, usernames and mobile numbers of the owner and staff. Passwords and PINs are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that we cannot read.
- Plan and payments: your plan, its dates and the payments you made to us. We do not collect or store card or bank account numbers.
- Shop records: products, stock, bills, returns, expenses, offers, alterations, salesman points and the history of who changed what.
- Your customers' details: the names, mobile numbers, loyalty points, credit dues and purchase history that your shop chooses to enter. Customer details are optional when billing.
- Security and device details: when someone logs in, we record the IP address, device and browser so that the owner can see where the shop is logged in and so that we can stop misuse. If you allow notifications, we keep the notification address your browser or phone gives us.
- Error reports: when something goes wrong in the app, technical details of the error reach us so we can fix it.
When you visit this website
- To decide whether to show the page in Tamil, our server checks which Indian state your IP address belongs to, using a list kept on our own server (IP data by DB-IP). The IP address is not saved for this.
- If you pick a language, your browser remembers it (in its local storage). It stays on your device.
- The page's fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
2. How we use it
- To provide the app: billing, stock, reports, backups and the other features of your plan.
- To support you, answer your tickets, train your staff and set up your shop.
- To send service messages, such as plan renewal reminders and important changes.
- To keep the service secure and to find and fix problems.
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping our own accounts and tax records.
3. Your shop's customers
For the details a shop keeps about its customers, the shop decides what is collected and why; we only store and process them on the shop's behalf. Shops should tell their customers how their details are used and should send WhatsApp messages only to customers who are happy to receive them. Bills and reminders on WhatsApp are sent from the shop's own WhatsApp, not by us. If you are a customer of a shop, please contact the shop first; we will help the shop with your request.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with:
- the companies that host our servers and keep our backups, which store it for us under contract;
- Google and Apple, only to deliver notifications you have turned on;
- the government or courts, when the law requires us to.
5. How we protect it
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. Owners can turn on 2-step login. Staff only see what their role allows, and important changes are recorded. The database is backed up every day to a separate location. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
6. How long we keep it
- Shop data is kept while your shop uses Tizo POS. When a shop is deleted, its data is removed from the live database straight away, and from our backups as they expire (within 60 days).
- Before leaving, owners on plans with shop backup can download all their shop's data as Excel files. Otherwise ask us and we will send it.
- Demo requests are kept while we are in touch with you and deleted on request.
- Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it where you gave consent. You can also nominate someone to act for you. Write to us using the details below; we reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
Tizo POS is a business tool for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about children, except where a shop records a purchase made for a child.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If the change is important, we will tell shop owners in the app.
